Nestlé NANKID® has launched a new breakthrough in children’s nutrition – introducing the new NANKID® Infinipro HA, its most advanced milk formula containing a complex of five Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) structurally identical and inspired by the third largest solid component in human milk.
HMOs are essential to health, and emerging research indicates they play an important role in gut, brain and immune system development. In 2017, Nestlé began incorporating HMOs into milk formula to extend their benefits to families that require supplemental nutrition for children.
“This is how Nestlé continues to make history—with over 155 years of evidence-based scientific research and consistently pioneering innovations,” says Missy Ayson, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Philippines’ Infant Nutrition Unit. “We carry on with our mission of providing nothing less than the best nutrition that helps improve every child's quality of life and uplifts every family around the world. Now more than ever, it is vital to not lose sight of our relentless commitment to nourish each aspect of growth and development, all in the desire to achieve the lifelong health of Filipino children.”
Nestlé NANKID® is the first in the world to introduce a milk formula with the unique 5 HMO complex and is also the first to unveil this scientific breakthrough in the Philippines.
Human milk oligosaccharides, or HMOs, are one of the most significant components of human milk; research is still revealing all the ways these bioactive substances promote growth and protect health. More than 200 distinct HMOs have been identified, with a diverse array present in lactating mothers. They fit into three main categories, including non-fucosylated, fucosylated and sialylated. While other formula products contain HMOs from only one category, Nestlé NANKID® Infinipro HA’s unique 5 HMO complex represents all three categories. These are structurally identical to naturally-occurring HMOs and are combined based on the ratios found in human milk. The five HMOs may act as health guardians, building a strong foundation for lifelong immune health.
